September 10 New Fansite - www.ps5.euI found a new Gaming Fansite called www.ps5.eu It looks good and is growing. I know the webmaster and he tells me they hope to have exclusive info re new games and release dates. Commonwealth Games 2014 GlasgowMassive inner city regeneration has been planned after Glasgow won the bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The athletes village (accommodation) will be in the notorious East End. In most cases the slums have already been demolished and Glaswegians are looking forward to top class sporting facilities and housing taking their place. How many of Glasgows citizens will actually use these multi million pound facilities? Only time will tell. From the velodrome to the running tracks - no expense is being spared however Hospitals have been closed and schools awaiting redevelopment and modernisation have been told they will have to wait even longer. Free school meals have stopped and council services cut back. The cynics are condemning what they see as a waste of money. The optimists are hailing the forthcoming Games as an opportunity to bring wealth, sport and culture to the deprived inhabitants. August 21 Where is Summer? / I love my Honda!Its now well into the second half of August and Summer still hasnt arrived.
On the way home from work on Tuesday I hadthe most exciting drive of my life.
I could see the city from the hill as I drove down towards it.
Well, I COULDNT see the city!
All I could see was black cloud where it should be.
The mass of cloud was both darkly menacing and beautiful.
I could see it boiling and pulsing as lightning bolts shot through it and although it was dry and sunny where I was, I could almost feel the blackness of the storm.
The other traffic, it was rush hour, was driving slowly, the drivers of the other cars also marvelling at the blackness ahead.
Some of them would be apprehensive about what lay in front, others excited.
I had both feelings.
200 metres further on and I was engulfed by the darkness.
Almost instantly my car was hit by a falling wall of water and the road turned into a small river. I couldnt see the white lines and the car vibrated with thunder.
The darkness was eerie. It was lit up intermittently by Lightning. Everything looked dark grey.
As I drove on into he storm driving became more hazardous. Other rush hour drivers were stopping at the side of the road or gingerly moving forward, testing the abilities of their respective cars against the deluge.
I made it across the valley, a journey of approximately a mile and a half.
The wide high tyres of my own car able to keep the engine out of the torrents of water that used to be roads.
I expected the normally busy dual carriageway to be at a standstill. Instead it was practically empty.
As I turned onto it at the 4 way junction it strecthed ahead grey and dark.
About 20 metres into it I found ut why. The road was under about 2 feet of water.
Ahead I could see hazard warning lights flashing. I approached at around 10 miles an hour.
The wake of the water stretching back from both sides of my car.
I passed the car park of a large DIY warehouse. It had been built slightly lower than the roadway and a torrent of muddy brown floodwater was rushing into the wide entrance. I drove through the current trying to pull me into the entrance. My 4 wheel drive kicking in as the car started to slide and dragging me through to the other side of the junction.
I passed the car abandoned on the roadway. There was no one inside.
At the end of the carriageway I began to drive uphill steeply and was at once out of the flood. Almost magically, he rain ceased. I pulled down my sun visor os light streamed through gaps in the clouds.
In my rear view mirror I could see the storm still raging unabated but I was now on the home stretch and looking forward to dinner with my family.
Im really glad I replaced my old Honda CRV with a newer model. A saloon car would have sucked the water into the engine and died.
This isnt an advert for Honda CRV just my own experience 2 days ago.
If you read this please leave a message  March 24 Windows Messenger - different versions?I reformatted and reinstalled XP.
After reinstalling messenger I find the user interface has changed. It looks very basic and doesnt have the icons for My space share folders etc.
I can now access these hings if I use Micrososft MSN messenger web interface. So do I now have to find the right web page before I can easily access my space and the rest of the features?
March 03 Multiplayer Online Gaming - Top 10I have tried many of the online games since Quake way back in the days of 14k modems and 600 pings.

That list will probably give my age away!
Remember to remove blood/gore when kids are online. Its been proven that gory gaming desensitises kids to real life violence. |
